Optimist Charity Challenge

Team Information

How does the tournament work?

Teams challenge another team of similar calibre to a one-game showdown, with winners claiming bragging rights and a special prize. Even if your team’s on-ice performance isn’t enough to win, perhaps you’ll win as the top fundraising team or individual. And even if you don’t win in that way, you can feel proud for the difference you will be making in the lives of many youth in the area.

Tournament Location:

For the third year, the 2011 Charity Challenge is being held on the new ice pads at the Woolwich Memorial Centre in Elmira. The centre features two state-of-the-art NHL sized ice surfaces - the Dan Snyder and Jim McLeod Arenas. Click here for directions.

Player Pledges:

Pledges/donations collected by players are the key to a successful tournament.  To recognize player efforts in fund raising, we are pleased to be able to offer individual and team recognition. Check some of the past year prizes for individual awards.  And don’t forget to check the many fine Waterloo Region charities our Optimist Clubs are able to support through your efforts.

If you need more copies of the pledge sheet, you can get one here.  You will need the Adobe Acrobat Reader to view it.
